Locally, he was the RAFARS monthly news reader and had also organised the RAFARS stand at the Veterans Weekend at East Park, Hull.
Thursday nights, he ran the local RAFARS vhf net and was known for his efficient handling of this.
Bernard was a keen, friendly and welcoming person and will be missed by all who knew him.
